Microsoft buys aQuantive
May 18th, 2007 posted by Christopher RaymondThe battle for online media supremacy just took a major turn of events today as Microsoft announced the purchase of aQuantive - an Ad serving and network business.
With Google last month announcing that they will purchase DoubleClick, and then Yahoo announcing the purchase of Right Media, it was only a matter of time until we heard from Microsoft.
The purchase of aQuantive now makes Microsoft a major player in the online ad media business more than ever. And as Google has continued to dominate this market(making 1 Billion last quarter) its no surprise Microsoft would make a major move to try to better position itself in this growing market.
More evidence that online media is hot.
